Achieving carbon neutrality by 2050

As a Saint-Gobain company, we’ve committed to reducing our carbon footprint and becoming a carbon neutral business by 2050.

33% scope 1 & 2 emissions reduction

To pave the way for our long-term goals, we’re working on reducing our scope 1 & 2 emissions by at least 33% by 20 30.

20% scope 3 emissions reduction

We’re also working on lowering the indirect emissions created by our value chain, aiming for at least 20% less by 2030.

To help develop next-generation materials and solutions that make sustainable industry possible, we’re taking action on a number of initiatives from our sustainability roadmap.

• Renewable energy: Expanding the use of renewable energy across our manufacturing sites worldwide  
• New technologies: Investigating promising technologies that will allow us to reduce our direct emissions, such as carbon capture and green hydrogen as an energy source
• Circularity: Improving the circularity of our processes by using recycled materials   
• Transportation emissions: Reducing transport-related emissions by prioritizing regional production and working with regional suppliers
• Product innovation: Co-developing solutions to improve efficiency & reduce CO2 formation
• Lifecycle design: Conducting full Life Cycle Analyses (LCAs) for all of our products

Transitioning to renewable energy

Today 100% of manufacturing facilities are using 60-100% renewable energy.

40 million metric tons of CO₂ avoided

Over the past 30 years, equivalent to more than 9 million gas-powered vehicles driven for a year.

Product life cycle analyses  

To date, we’ve conducted full Life Cycle Analyses (LCAs) for 80% of our products.

We work with third party auditors such as Ecovadis to help measure and improve our environmental, social, and responsibility standards. Our last audit was a silver rating in 2025.
